Are You Feeling the Call?

Have you ever heard someone’s voice, and when you looked around that person wasn’t there? Or, have you heard someone call your name only to find you are alone? If you are like me, you probably brushed it off as a coincidence or just plain weird.

Occasionally, I listen to the Kidd Kraddock Show on KISS FM, based here in Dallas, TX. I always get a laugh from the crew. I first discovered the show when I heard outrageous laugher coming from my son’s room who was ten years old at the time. Curious, I opened the door to his room to see what was causing his laughter. Shortly, I too was laughing hysterically. That day we started a new morning ritual of listening to Kidd Kraddock on the way to school each morning.

Recently I was listening to a gorgeous classical guitar CD when I felt a sudden ‘urge’ to turn on the radio. Even though I was immersed in the guitar music, I followed the urge, and was I ever amazed at what I heard! I had tuned in just in time to hear Kidd say that he was experiencing something very strange. He had been feeling his mobile phone vibrating as if he had an incoming call, but when he checked his phone, no one had called him. Furthermore, he said that he has even felt a vibration on the specific part of his leg where his phone would lay if it were in his pocket, even when he is without his phone. He asked the listeners to call in if they were having, or have had, the same experience.

Even though I was only able to listen for just a few minutes, I was amazed that people called in right away to say that they had experienced the same phenomenon. He asked them what they thought it was. Some said stress. Others said they thought it happened when they were anticipating a phone call. Everyone had a different opinion. Had I called in, I would have had an entirely different perspective!

Has something totally unexplainable of this nature ever happened to you? Well, it happened to me. In the early nineties, I had an experience that proved to change my life forever. One day, while in California, over a thousand miles from my home in Texas, I heard my home telephone ringing. It was clear as if the phone was right beside me. This phenomenon occurred numerous times over about six months. I didn’t think much of it and didn’t bother to tell anyone else about it. It was just weird and of no significance to me. I never knew what to make of it, until one day when I found myself in a workshop exploring the mysteries of the Soul.

After hours of explanation, the instructor, Dr. Demartini, lead us through an exercise so that we could experience his theory. With the concept that the Soul resides within, we were all instructed to focus on our inner being and ask it what it wanted us to know. I went along expecting nothing. I focused my attention inside and flippantly said, “Okay Soul, so what do you want me to know?” I expected nothing. But, that is not what happened. Instead, a silent voice spoke to me from deep within. It said, “I have been calling, and you haven’t answered!”

I was stunned! I flashed back to the previous months when I could hear my home phone ringing despite being miles from home. And then it hit me! THAT was my Soul trying to get my attention. It had a message for me. The voice sounded exactly like my audible voice except that it was silent. It brought me immense peace and indescribable comfort. It originated from a space deep inside my being.

Has this ever happened to you?

Whether it has or not, I invite you to practice communicating with this infinite genius within.
Stop. Pause.
Take a relaxing breath.
Focus inside and ask, “What do you want me to know?”
Simply WAIT and focus on your breathing.

Something will rise into your awareness like a bubble rising to the surface.
Begin to notice how you feel. If you feel peace, you will know you have heard from the Whisper of your Soul. If it is logical, it probably isn’t the Whisper.

Your Whisper may not speak in words, as it did to me. You may experience it as I most often do, as an urge, a snapshot-click, collapsed time, a knowing, inspiration, or as wonderment.

This story above is the very beginning of my conscious relationship with the Whisper. I didn’t know that I had a Whisper, much less that I could have a conscious dialogue and relationship with it. You do not need to be hit over the head with a baseball bat to receive your messages. By consciously engaging with your Whisper you will receive your messages and guidance as gently as a feather. You will have the Inner Advantage over your life.

The Whisper is not a religion, nor does it discount or conflict with anyone’s religion. The Whisper arises from an inner integrity, from the source of Love. It is often what some people call “conscience”.

“DEEP WITHIN THE RECESSES OF WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE LIES THE TRUTH OF YOUR BEING, THE ESSENCE OF YOUR VERY OWN SOUL.”
