The Whisper Lets You KNOW

Have you ever had the experience that you know that you know that you know? You knew, deep inside you, exactly what to do about a situation, or an action to take, even though you didn’t know how you knew or even why. You just knew. Some people have said when describing this experience, “I knew it in my bones!”

This is the Fifth Distinct Way to recognize inner guidance and we call it KNOWING. Knowing is the sure and certain feeling and sensation that the action you are urged toward is the right action to take even though you don’t know why. The key to understanding Knowing is that you don’t know how or why you know. It is a sensation that arises within you, directed from inner guidance, your Whisper, and gives you the sensation of alignment or what some call “resonance”.

One of the simplest and best explanations I’ve seen of resonance is given by Dr. Masaru Emoto, author of The Hidden Messages in Water. In his latest book, The Shape of Love, Dr. Emoto explains that all things, including thought, at some level vibrate and have sound. The rate of vibration determines the sound frequency of any particular object. Vibration is the energy of an object or substance. When two objects vibrate at the same rate emitting the same frequency of sound (measured in hertz), then they are said to resonate.

Have you ever heard someone say something to you, and it felt like a sure and certain truth within you? You may have even exclaimed, “Oh that resonates with me!” In simple terms, the thought or the idea you heard or read vibrates at the same, or near the same level, as your being, which we call your Intrinsic Blueprint. What resonates with you may not resonate with me, because we all have a unique way of expressing our being, our intrinsic pattern or blueprint, so to speak.

When Knowing shows up in your life you have just been given a DIRECTION to take and follow that matches or aligns with the divine frequency of your essential nature. Knowing changes your direction and most often puts you on another course in your life. A woman I met recently runs her own radio station. She told me she was a successful interior designer, and yet one morning she awoke knowing she was to begin her own radio show. She had no experience, and her friends thought she had gone crazy! She told me she had no idea where the knowing came from, but it felt so sure and certain that she began taking steps to teach herself what she needed to learn to launch her radio show. Today she runs a very popular women’s radio program in the Detroit area.

So how do you tell the difference between Knowing and having a very strong belief about something? Each of the Six Distinct Ways (Snapshot-Click, Collapsed Time, Urge, Wonderment, Knowing, and Inspiration) arises with, and is the experience of, “awareness” and “presence”. When you experience any of these Six Distinct Ways, the “thinking mind” falls away, and you are left without reasons or explanations about what you feel as Knowing.

Belief, on the other hand, is a thought, or idea, or concept you hold to be true. Your mind will spin out lots of evidence to support your beliefs, and it will give you tons of reasons why that belief is true (whether it is or not). Knowing has no such evidence, and in fact, you have no idea how you know, yet, you are clear and certain in the sensation.

Years ago, back in 1982, while living in Monroe, Louisiana, my husband and I (Vanessa) drove to Houston. It was my first time in Houston, and I was amazed by all the building and construction going on at that time. No matter which way I turned my head there was a construction crane; I turned to the left – crane – snapshot; I turned to the right – crane – snapshot; I even turned around to look behind me – crane – snapshot. Each glance was like a photograph, and in those moments I was catapulted into Knowing.

I knew we were moving to Houston! I felt it as a certainty, a complete sureness. I even mentioned it to my husband. Within 30-days he was given another assignment and location to… you guessed it… Houston!

LaRue, in 1989 knew she was moving to Dallas and announced it to a friend, “I’ll be there in six weeks.” With no money, a baby, and nowhere to live, she had no doubt she would live in Dallas, where she continues to reside.

The sensation of Knowing leaves no doubt. We describe this certainty in Your Essential Whisper as “cellular alignment”. It feels as though each cell in your body is aligning with, or resonating with, the new idea, decision, or action that showed up.

Knowing is the experience of Inner Guidance showing you what is next.

Think back to a KNOWING you had.

How did it feel?

Can you remember the feeling of certainty you had even though you didn’t know how you knew?

Did you follow the Knowing?

Did you ignore it?

As you recall your experiences of Knowing you may become very excited when you realize that you have always been guided in your life!
