From Confusion to Clarity

Feeling confused these days?
I am studying internet marketing. Why? Because we want to get the Whisper out to as many people as we can and boy-oh-boy have I gotten confused at times! There is this whole new language for me in this business of marketing products and services online. For example, just to name a few of the coined terms in this new language: auto-responders, ad words, keywords, affiliate marketing, joint ventures, and the list continues. Whew!
I remember my excitement at seven years old when I held my first transistor radio. OK, I am dating myself, but radios had gone from big brown boxes that sat in the middle of the living room to something you could hold in your hand. It was a very big deal. I opened my transistor up one day and was riveted on the multi-colored wires that swirled and connected one to the other. How did the music travel through those copper-colored discs the size of my fingernail?
Now, I have a 1 GB iPod shuffle that clips on my collar and can hold roughly 18 hours of MP3 music or the equivalent of 11 hours, 40 minutes of Flash video. For the non-techies, that’s 240 songs!
There was a time a trip to the library was an afternoon event. Now, with a few clicks on the keyboard we can be transported to the Library of Congress. I’ve heard that we are hit with over 6,000 advertising messages a day—some claim it’s more like 30,000. No wonder we get confused.
I am sitting in my favorite coffee shop . . . there’s a man named Mickey sitting behind me talking quite loudly into his cell phone, music is playing through the overhead speakers, people stream in ordering a myriad of coffee drinks, my blackberry buzzes with a new subscriber to the free chapter of Your Essential Whisper (yay!), and at another table I hear, “Mr. Howard is not going to keep his appointment.”
So, if you are feeling confused, overwhelmed, stressed out, trying to sort out what information is useful and what information is not, I’ve got some good news for you!
Clarity is right around the corner. Actually, it can be found right in this article, so keep reading. I can sit here with all this “noise” in complete joy and peace, sip my coffee, write this article, because I am following the simple directions—the sensations of energy—within me to do so. I felt URGED to come here and write, so even amidst the activity, cell phones, music, and conversations, I am given everything needed to get this article written. I am following the simple directions, and as a result the words are streaming out.
But, it isn’t always this way!
A few weeks back I felt so overwhelmed with attempting to learn all this new technology (webinars, shopping carts, forums, etc.) I could cry. You see, I told myself I “had to” learn all this stuff, and not only learn it, but be proficient and competent at it.
I made that up. And that’s how confusion begins. Let me explain.
I had a belief that said, “I should know what to do”. And as I dived into all this technology I found, “I didn’t have a clue”.
That’s a long way from knowing what to do, isn’t it? But, and most importantly, “I” decided what “I” needed and used those beliefs as the compass. This is a sure and certain way to confusion! I wasn’t listening to the sensations of guidance within me. I lost my way.
One day on one of the tele-seminar classes La Rue and I are taking with a wonderful team headed by Melanie Benson Strick, of Virtual Team Builders, (www.successconnections.com) I expressed my confusion. How do I know which technology to use? How do I “plan” the growth of Intrinsic International and still follow intuition?
Here was the answer I received.
“Vanessa, you are caught up with “hero” mentality, you believe you have to know everything AND be good at it too. Instead, let you business and your clients and customers tell you what is needed next, and do just that.”
Wow! That sounded like the advice I’d give to someone else, but I couldn’t get out of my own way to give that sage advice to myself.
So here’s the secret – to get clarity it’s a simple 4-word sentence:
Do what is next.
You always get what is next from the Whisper. It may be simply sitting and looking out the window at the birds. The next move may be going to your favorite coffee shop and reading a book or working on your dreams. The movement of what is next is felt within as energy to move or act in a certain direction; as an urge or inspiration for example. If the phone rings, answer it.
Can it really be that simple?
Following the Whisper is easy. Following the six distinct ways you are given information is far easier than the plan to assimilate all the information you are bombarded with daily. Confusion is the state of believing you should be, do, or have what isn’t in front of you. The Whisper says “Do THIS now.” “Do THIS now.” “Do THIS now.” All of the information required is given in the moment it is needed.
“And, with that, I now know the article is complete!”
P.S. Want to know what occurs when in a trance? Confusion! But, that’s a different article. Join us next week when you can read about how you may be hypnotized. Now, I’m done!
