3 Steps for Getting Unstuck and Back In the Flow

Ugh!  It was time to write The Weekly Whisper (TWW) and there was absolutely NO energy for it.  In fact, I was totally uninspired and didn’t have even-an-ounce of motivation for it!

My self-talk went something like this. This is the only day I have to write TWW before the deadline.  Are people actually reading this thing, anyway?  Do they actually get value out of it?

Suddenly, I notice an inner nudge, an ‘urge’ prodding me to speak with Vanessa about my feelings.  “Well, LaRue, why don’t you write about the block you are having about writing The Weekly Whisper,” she says.  Bingo!  I can do that!  That is real for me.

It is very interesting how easy it is to write when writing about what I am experiencing in-the-moment.  Just the act of admitting and expressing what I was feeling was all it took for the energy to flow again.

Has this ever happened to you?  . . . . . . .

You’re fatigued.  You’re just too tired to do the things that you absolutely must do.  You’ve been telling yourself to do them for several hours.  You finally muster up the energy to actually take action, and like magic, your energy suddenly returns.

Where did all of that energy come from?  Where was it when I needed it, you ask yourself.  It was there waiting on you all along.  It had been reserved for you, but you didn’t have access to it until you took action.

We are given the energy to do the things that are truly important and are guided by the Whisper.  Our resistance to doing them drains us.  Once the resistance is eliminated, by taking action, the energy for it returns.  You let out an ‘Ahh’ as you merge with the flow, once again and bask in relief.

Three Steps to Get Back In the Flow:

Search yourself for any nudges from the Whisper that you may have ignored or missed.  Do that before you do the following steps.  It may eliminate the need to do the next two steps.  If you can’t find any resisted Whisper nudges, do the Mind-Dump below.

Do a Mind-Dump. Ever heard the saying ‘You can’t see the forest for the trees’?  Write out all the thoughts that are swirling around in your mind. Get them out of your head and out in front of you.  Doing so provides a larger perspective on it all. When everything held inside the mind, you think you have to do them all, right now. Believing you have to do everything you’ve listed can result in overwhelm, fatigue, and inertia!  But, when you back up from them and look at the thoughts objectively, you can gain a larger perspective and actually see the forest, so to speak.

Take action on the things you would rather not do—the things that you’re resisting.  (You know, the things your Whisper nudged you to do, but you didn’t.)  Action will free your energy to do all the other things, the things that inspire you.

Was I resisting writing The Weekly Whisper?  No.  Was I telling myself to write TWW, because it was something I had to do?  Yes and No.  What was actually going on?  It was one, simple thing.  I needed to communicate with Vanessa.  As soon as I did that one, simple little thing, the flow returned.  (I had already done a mind-dump and the To-Do’s that I preferred not to do.)   It’s amazing how gently and subtly the Whisper guides us.

If you are still stuck after doing the above, you may have a deeper pattern of resistance within, which keeps you from trusting the sensations of inner guidance.  One of our Evo-K Facilitators can help you pop through the pattern quickly, sometimes in as little as one session.  Write LaRue for an Evo-K Facilitator near you.
