Shake Your Dream Alive!

Does the title sound familiar? It is the title of the internet radio program I do each month and it was chosen when LaRue said to me one day, “Vanessa, this can be a way to help others shake their dream alive.” The moment I heard those words they resonated, I loved them.
You see dreams sometimes lay dormant inside us until we are called to shake them up and wake them up. Your essential Whisper lets you know its time to call your dream forth by the messages it gives you. Of course, if you are not accustomed to receiving these messages in the various, yet universal ways they are given, you may brush them off as coincidences, flukes, happenstance, and luck. I have been listening to and intentionally following these messages for over 28 years and I can assure you there is nothing coincidental about them!
By now you are familiar with the distinct sensations, right? The Whisper “speaks” through very distinct sensations and feelings you can discern in your body. They are expansiveness or openness, high level of alertness and awareness (we also call this presence), resonance or alignment (this feels like certainty), energy, and inner peace. We all have experienced these sensations notably during six distinct types of experiences: Snap Shot Click, Collapsed Time, Urge, Wonderment, Knowing, and Inspiration. But, did you know there are also distinct universal ways to understand and decipher the actual messages?
There are five universal ways—interactions— to receive your messages that help you to know what action to take, or to know what you are being told. Accompanied by the distinct sensations, the messages from your Whisper can arrive in physical form such as:
written or spoken words,
highly meaningful events, also known as synchronicities,
your dreams,
symbols or nature,
direct communication and dialogue with your Whisper
Let’s look briefly at each of these types of universal interactions:
Written and Spoken Words
Have you noticed that sometimes you may be wondering about something, perhaps a decision to make or how to do something better or more efficiently and BAM! Right there in your mailbox or on your kitchen counter are the exact words that answer your question? Your inner guidance always leads you to your answers and can do so through written and spoken words. Have you ever had someone speak just the words or information you were looking for? This is one of the universal ways each of us can get our messages; we can get answers from our own language of words. The important thing is not to discount them or wave them away, especially if it feels awesome, expansive, and in alignment with what you were looking for.
Synchronicity
You are probably very familiar with synchronicity, which is when a highly improbable event occurs that is very significant and meaningful to you and that gives you just the answer or information you were looking for. This is when you might exclaim, “it came out of the blue!” or, “I could have never planned this!”
Dreams
No doubt you have had dreams that you felt were significant and had meaning for you. The Whisper can speak to you through your nighttime dreams, which LaRue loves to call, “nighttime explorations.” These kinds of dreams will have a specific quality to them in which you are watching the dream unfold, and you may even be asking while inside the dream for its meaning. Keep a dream journal to write in as soon as you awaken and begin capturing any details that stand out to you. Also begin practicing asking for specific information before falling asleep. Symbols or Nature
Oftentimes, you may see a particular symbol (number, geometric pattern, color) or an unusual animal will appear. If you find that it feels very meaningful to you, you may want to delve a bit deeper and ask the Whisper to give you more information. A wonderful book that describes animal and nature symbols is Nature Speaks, by Ted Andrews.
Direct Dialogue
The Whisper Messages you receive from us each week in this e-zine is an example of direct dialogue, or the receipt of inner words and messages. You can have a “conversation with God” as well. This is not the exclusive domain of celebrity authors, priests, or others. The words arise with the distinct sensations and act as an interpretation of the movement of energy within.
All of these are universal in scope, in that you have experienced, if not all of them, at least some of them. So how does this relate to shaking up your dreams? If you are being called to a higher vision in your life, if you are transitioning to bring about a “bigger you,” you will receive messages that will guide you to your next steps and answer your questions. Ignoring these will feel very, very uncomfortable, and feel as if something is missing in your life.
Your Whisper is always guiding you to express your intrinsic and inherent nature, gifts and talents. If you have been putting this off, stuffing your dreams down inside, you may begin to notice shifts in your environment and messages appearing more and more often attempting to wake you up! Just know this: the sensations, the 6 distinct experiences, and these 5 universal interactions are your inner guidance, period. They are not flukes, luck, or fluffy circumstances. They are the wisdom of you guiding you to fulfill your dreams.
