Whisper Message
Oh, how glorious was the smell of the freshly cut pine tree wafting through the young girls country home! She felt magic in the air while listening to Christmas music, wrapping presents and sipping eggnog with the colorful lights adorning the family tree that her father had cut himself.
“I wish everyday was Christmas!” she exclaimed. Her mother, exhausted from just eking out an existence for her six children, thought the child was talking about daily Christmas presents and promptly explained to her why that wasn’t possible–”We work from day light to dusk to feed and clothe all of you kids. We borrow money to buy your Christmas presents and work all year to pay off the loan and that is why it isn’t possible to do Christmas everyday!”
For some people, the holidays can be filled with burden, dread, and obligation. For others it can be their favorite time of the year. Whether you look forward to the holidays or dread it, here’s a story to help you keep it all in perspective.

In reality, the spirit of Christmas is with us everyday and doesn’t have to go away when the beautifully wrapped boxes topped with pretty bows are long gone. It’s the connection to those we love, the acts of kindness we gift another, and the wonderful conversations with family and friends that add the magic to our daily lives.
