How Inspiration Moves
February 14, 2011
Whisper Message
Inspiration is the energy of movement urging you to create something, whether a product or service, or a piece of art. In an earlier video you learned that following inspiration may feel a lot like taking a chance, because you don’t fully know how to create what you are inspired to create and so you may feel a level of doubt or uncertainty. And yet, inspiration always gives you the next steps in your process of creation.
But what happens during the creation process as you are taking guided action when suddenly the feeling of inspiration shifts or maybe leaves altogether?
There are 3 ways inspiration moves… watch here.
Please leave a comment or question below, and we will continue to explore this powerful sensation of guidance.
In Inspiration,
Vanessa and LaRue

Thank you! You have given me an insight that I can use when I have what I call the ‘tax return effect’. This is the feeling of having a task which I should be doing, and which occupies my head until I do it, but have no energy for (in fact, negative energy for). Next time I shall ask ‘what step can I take will give me inspiration for this?

Hi Carol, you’re so welcome. I suppose not many of us are ever inspired to do our taxes
One day I knew I had to look through a large pile of mail and bills and I sat there in my kitchen and waited (for inspiration)… and then, I felt this wonderful burst of energy and urge to take the whole pile to Starbucks. So I did, and sat outside sipping a tall vanilla Americano and went through the whole pile joyfully.

Hi Vanessa,
Thank you for the message today. It gives me hope that my inspiration is still in me, but I need some help and guidance, more information.
For the last 10 months I have been writing my book titled “Amazing Women, We Want to Know” and includes inspirational stories. I have compiled 13 stories, from contributors from around the world. I am feeling a loss of inspiration, or maybe “know how”. Not sure, it could be another excuse, as you say “not to finish”?
I look forward to more messages on inspiration.
Appreciative,
Carolyn

Carolyn the book sounds amazing. It took us 2 years to get our book written and published, and along the way we traveled meandering paths… it was not a straight shot. Let a few people you trust read what you have and ask for ideas, or begin a blog releasing very brief excerpts and ask for comments, or join a local group of writers to share your process and journey. Continue to ask for “what’s next” and watch the magic happen.

Thanks again Vanessa! This was very helpful. It is such a fine line for me with projects like your box trying to decide if it is something to let go of or to simply get in alignment with (i.e. find inspiration). That energy sucking feeling when you stare at something undone is so unpleasant!

You’re very welcome Nancy. So glad it was helpful.
It’s the “trying to decide” part that is difficult… “try not to decide” and instead feel the decision, see if that loosens things up for you… remember it took the woman I made the promise to to call me before I had to face my “decision” and feel my way through it. That box might still be sitting there sucking my energy!:)

Hi Vanessa and Larue,
Another great message. I enjoyed the different steps or phases of inspiration and have experienced those times in my life.
When an idea comes to me, I get inspired and excited. I can’t wait to get started. I almost want to run and see it completed. Then, almost immediately reality sets in. I am in the middle of something (timing) or the money isn’t there (resources) or there are just too many obstacles (lack of confidence). So I decide to not even follow the inspiration for fear of being labeled as someone who doesn’t have the follow-through. And if I do follow inspiration, it seems to take forever to complete something when others can complete effortlessly.
I welcome any of your inspirations!

Hi Sandy, that’s wonderful insight! That “can’t wait to get started” is your beautiful guidance filling you with energy to create/fulfill a desire and idea, and “reality” has nothing, or certainly very little to do with it. Guidance connected to universal wisdom is a miracle worker.
We were inspired to move and everyone told us we wouldn’t sell our house in Michigan. But inspiration wouldn’t let go, and we sold it in three weeks… totally against “reality”. It’s only necessary to take the very next step. In our case, we called our agent and stuck a for sale sign in the ground.
Then, of course, there was that box in my closet… it’s all good. Keep recognizing the sensation and do your best to follow it all the way through. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing these important distinctions. I find it so frustrating to try to “read the message” in my loss of inspiration to do something. It has often led me into “should I?”, “maybe I shouldn’t be spending my time doing this?” kind of mental activity, distracting me from listening within to see what’s next. I just happened to finish one of the “third” type you spoke of yesterday – the one that would drain my energy each time I saw “it” sitting there – WOW, it felt good to finally address it and free up energy for further inspired activities – which I’ve been in the midst of all morning. Again, Vanessa, your timing is perfect for me! THANKS! And, by the way, you ARE fabulous! love, nancy

Hi there Nancy, I love how you say “free up energy for further inspired activities”. That’s it, isn’t it?
And you’re so right, that mental activity distracts us from listening within to see what’s next. Good for you, I bet it felt really good to move through all of that.
Thank you Nancy!

Thank you for encouraging us to continue to generate resonance in the creation process. It is this resonance that provides the vehicle through which a drawing of the vibrational equivalent comes to us thus allowing the Law of Attraction to work for us even when the excitement within has perhaps dissipated. Thank you lovely one for your continued commitment to provide inspiration as well as substance. Namaste

Liked a different background and weaving that, like props into your message.
Any more you can say on working thru procrastination on a future message is helpful.
Tks.

Hi Lucy, did one on procrastination way back on Feb 25, 2008… you can access it in the archives. Let us know if that helps!
Thank you Lucy!
